Tens of thousands of passengers traveled by water across Philippine ports on All Souls’ Day, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported.
Between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m., the PCG recorded 10,772 outbound and 10,326 inbound passengers.
To manage the holiday rush, the agency deployed 5,243 personnel and inspected 157 vessels and 26 motorbancas.
The PCG will remain on heightened alert until November 4 to ensure passenger safety.
On land, major terminals like PITX and Cubao also saw heavy travel, with tens of thousands of passengers recorded in the days leading up to the holiday.
