LEVISTE, PARAS ASKED TO PRESENT PROOF OF ‘HONEY TRAP’ SCHEME

Malacañang said Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste and former Negros Oriental Rep. Jacinto Paras may present evidence to refute allegations that they plotted a “honey trap” scheme against Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.

The two have denied conspiring to discredit Recto, with Palace Press Officer Claire Castro saying their denials were expected.

Castro stressed that due process would be observed and that both men have the right to present their evidence.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is investigating the alleged plot, which reportedly involved hiring female sex workers to discredit Recto.

The alleged scheme surfaced after the NBI rescued several women reportedly hired for the operation on July 28.
