Public school teachers are not included in the work-from-home (WFH) arrangement every Friday, the Department of Education (DepEd) confirmed.
The four-day workweek policy applies only to non-teaching and related-teaching personnel in DepEd offices, under Memorandum Circular 114 issued by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.
DepEd Memorandum No. 18 designates Monday to Thursday as onsite workdays, with Friday as a WFH day for eligible staff, while school-based personnel must remain on-site to manage end-of-school-year activities.
Other government offices, including the House of Representatives and the Presidential Communications Office, have adopted modified or hybrid work arrangements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
These measures aim to maintain public service delivery while promoting energy savings and fiscal discipline.
