The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) announced that Maynilad Water customers will face a slight increase in their water bills for the third quarter of 2025 due to adjustments in the foreign currency differential adjustment (FCDA).
The rate hikes range from ₱0.01 to ₱0.11 per cubic meter, depending on consumption, while enhanced lifeline consumers are exempted.
The increase is attributed to the peso weakening against the yen and euro, affecting Maynilad’s foreign currency loans.
Meanwhile, Manila Water customers will see a reduction in their bills by as much as ₱2.45 per cubic meter, reflecting different foreign currency exposures.
Both water rate adjustments will take effect starting July 1, 2025.
