Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. has filed complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman against public works officials and private contractors over alleged irregularities involving eight “ghost” farm-to-market road projects in Davao Occidental worth around P94 million.
The complaints include charges of corruption, malversation, falsification of public documents, grave misconduct, and serious dishonesty linked to allegedly unbuilt infrastructure projects in several barangays.
The Department of Agriculture said investigators found a pattern of fabricated project reports, work accomplishment statements, and vouchers allegedly used to secure government payments for non-existent roads.
The projects reportedly carried contract values ranging from P10.02 million to P14.92 million.
If convicted, the respondents could face up to 40 years in prison, fines, and permanent disqualification from public office.
