The Philippines and Iceland signed an initial air services agreement allowing up to seven flights per week between Manila and Reykjavík.
The deal covers both passenger and cargo services, with flights potentially operating directly or through connecting routes.
Transportation officials said the agreement will give airlines more flexibility to explore new routes based on demand.
The deal is expected to boost tourism, travel, and economic ties between the two countries.
The Department of Transportation said it will continue pursuing more aviation agreements, particularly in the Nordic region.
