The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has summoned 29 more bus and PUV terminal operators for violations amid inspections of transportation facilities nationwide.
LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza said the move aims to ensure passenger safety and comfort, particularly in terminals with dilapidated facilities.
With these latest actions, a total of 86 terminals have been found in violation of regulations, and operators have been issued notices to comply.
Inspections focus on safe and accessible waiting areas, clean comfort rooms, fire safety equipment, and CCTV coverage.
Mendoza warned that terminals refusing to comply may face closure, citing a recent cease-and-desist order issued to a bus terminal in Iloilo.
