Only 14 out of 308 government departments and agencies earned an “outstanding” rating in the Department of Budget and Management’s (DBM) 2024 performance review.
Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman emphasized that the evaluation focuses on program implementation and service delivery rather than just budget utilization numbers.
Agencies with top marks include the Civil Service Commission, Public Attorney’s Office, and several state universities and colleges.
Most agencies, about 59.3%, received a “very satisfactory” rating, while around 5% were rated unsatisfactory or worse.
The review aims to serve as a fiscal performance report card to encourage better efficiency and accountability among government offices.
