The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has approved the release of ₱740.8 million to replenish the government’s Quick Response Funds (QRFs) for disaster relief efforts.
Of this amount, ₱640.834 million is allocated to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), while ₱100 million is designated for the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).
The DSWD will utilize its share to procure Family Food Packs and Non-Food Items, as well as to provide Emergency Cash Transfers to over 73,000 families affected by recent disasters in Cebu, Davao, and the Bicol region.
Meanwhile, the OCD’s allocation will support its disaster management operations through Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses.
This funding release aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure swift and sustained assistance to communities impacted by calamities. The DBM emphasized that these efforts are part of a continuous commitment to aid recovery and rehabilitation in affected areas.
