The Department of Health (DOH) raised a Code White Alert on October 18 ahead of Tropical Storm Ramil’s expected landfall.
This activated health emergency units and ensured that medicines, equipment, and personnel were ready for rapid deployment.
Over P11.2 million worth of health supplies have been pre-positioned in the Bicol Region, the storm’s predicted impact area.
The DOH also prepared first-aid kits, tents, breastfeeding kits, and potable water for evacuation centers and coordinated closely with local disaster and health offices.
This heightened readiness follows lessons learned from Typhoon Opong, which heavily affected Bicol.
