33 DOH HOSPITALS OPEN FAST LANES AS LEPTOSPIROSIS CASES RISE

Malacañang said 33 Department of Health (DOH) hospitals have activated fast lanes for leptospirosis patients amid rising cases following Habagat-related flooding.

The hospitals are located in Metro Manila, Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and the Cordillera region.

The DOH is also adding hospital beds and medicines to handle the surge in patients.

As of Aug. 22, the country recorded 4,285 leptospirosis cases, with most reported in Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.

Health officials also urged people exposed to floodwaters to seek consultation at DOH hospitals, health centers, and YAKAP clinics.
