The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has suspended all road reblocking projects nationwide until new guidelines are issued.
Secretary Vince Dizon cited concerns over roads in good condition being unnecessarily destroyed and rebuilt, hinting at possible financial motives.
He emphasized that only truly dilapidated roads will be exempt from the suspension.
Dizon urged the public to report unauthorized reblocking activities through DPWH’s social media for immediate action.
He warned district engineers that defying the suspension order would result in consequences.
