The DILG has allocated P5 million to support youth-led initiatives addressing the rise of HIV cases among young Filipinos.
Last year, 1,686 HIV cases were reported among those aged 15 to 24, according to the Council for the Welfare of Children.
The funding, channeled through the National Youth Commission, aims to expand awareness and reduce stigma around HIV.
The NYC is coordinating with the Department of Health and the Philippine National AIDS Council to ensure youth perspectives guide prevention and education efforts.
Plans also include partnering with an AIDS advocacy group for a nationwide anti-stigma campaign.
