The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is closely monitoring the situation in Venezuela after two powerful earthquakes struck the country’s northern coast.
The Philippine Embassy in Bogota has been coordinating with Filipino nationals, and no injuries or casualties have been reported so far.
About 74 Filipinos, many of them religious missionaries, are currently in Venezuela.
The embassy has been checking on Filipinos in Caracas and Barinas and advised them to stay in safe locations and follow local government advisories.
The DFA said it will continue monitoring the situation and provide updates as needed.
