Following President Marcos’ call to reduce operational costs amid the Middle East conflict, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will implement a four-day compressed workweek starting Monday.
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has adopted the same schedule, with critical units like airport police, operations, engineering, and medical services continuing on shifting shifts.
The Department of Health (DOH) is also reducing on-site work to Mondays through Thursdays, with most staff working from home on Fridays, while key frontline offices maintain a skeletal workforce.
MIAA General Manager Eric Ines highlighted the agency’s plans to integrate renewable energy, including recently installed solar panels, into its infrastructure.
These measures aim to cut costs, maintain essential services, and promote long-term sustainability across government agencies.
