The Commission on Elections (Comelec) dismissed disqualification cases against senator-elect Erwin Tulfo and the Bagong Henerasyon (BH) party-list due to serious procedural lapses.
Tulfo’s petition was rejected for failing to submit key documents, such as an authenticated certificate of candidacy and proper authorization for his petitioner’s representative.
The BH party-list case was dismissed because the petitioner did not follow the required service procedures and failed to submit the necessary nomination documents.
Comelec emphasized that these dismissals were based on procedural grounds, so the substantive allegations were not examined.
With no motions for reconsideration, the dismissals pave the way for final proclamations, and BH thanked the Comelec for upholding due process and electoral integrity.
