Sen. Erwin Tulfo has filed a bill seeking a mandatory 20% discount on mobile load, postpaid plans, and internet packages for all enrolled Filipino students.
Senate Bill 2275, or the proposed “Student Load Discount Act,” aims to reduce the cost of online learning, especially during weather-related class suspensions.
The discount would apply year-round, including weekends and holidays, to ensure students have continuous access to academic resources.
Students would only need a valid school ID or proof of enrollment and a birth certificate to avail of the discount.
Tulfo said the measure would help ease the financial burden on families and prevent students from falling behind in their studies.
