More than 9,000 permanent Manila city government employees will receive the third tranche of their salary increase starting Sept. 1, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said.
The adjustment will give workers at least a 4% pay increase and cover 9,364 employees.
The city government’s additional personnel expense will reach nearly P100 million.
Domagoso said the salary hike will be implemented on time despite the city’s tight finances.
He credited prudent spending for allowing the city to continue funding the pay increase and other programs.
