The Department of Agriculture is targeting partial operations of the P4-billion Clark National Food Hub by the end of 2027.
Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. ordered officials to speed up construction of the 40-hectare facility in partnership with Food Terminal Inc. and Clark International Airport Corp.
The hub aims to lower logistics costs by consolidating food storage, processing, distribution, and marketing in one location while connecting farmers directly to markets.
Planned facilities include cold storage, food processing areas, laboratories, export services, and wholesale and retail spaces.
Once operational, the food hub is expected to create around 2,500 jobs and expand opportunities in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
