The drainage improvement project along Bonifacio Drive near Roxas Boulevard is expected to be completed by May 15, allowing the reopening of about 300 meters of road and easing traffic in one of Manila’s busiest routes.
Manila Mayor Francisco Domagoso and DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon inspected the site on May 13 to check the progress of works aimed at reducing congestion and flooding.
The project’s final phase used a faster but more expensive three-day concrete curing process to speed up completion.
Officials said the upgraded drainage system and pumping station will soon be tested during the rainy season.
The initiative highlights coordination between the national and city governments to improve infrastructure and flood control in the area.
