Baguio City will begin shutting down purified water refilling stations and commercial deep wells that fail water quality tests twice starting July 20, following a directive from Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
The city also ordered stricter inspections and testing to ensure compliance with sanitation and health standards and protect the public from waterborne diseases.
Establishments that fail an initial test will be ordered to suspend operations until they pass a subsequent inspection, while repeat offenders face fines and closure.
The city is also cracking down on illegal operators, with nine unlicensed water refilling stations set to be closed.
Officials urged all water suppliers to comply with safety regulations to safeguard public health.
