Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno vowed to continue the Bureau of Customs’ (BOC) fight against agricultural smuggling to protect local farmers and fisherfolk.
He said stronger border protection and stricter enforcement against illegal trade remain key priorities of the agency.
Nepomuceno also highlighted efforts to improve revenue collection, reduce corruption, and modernize the BOC.
He noted that the bureau has exceeded its revenue target by more than P11 billion.
Nepomuceno assured farmer leaders that he would continue supporting them and fighting agricultural smuggling.
