National University dethroned reigning champion De La Salle University, 2-1, to capture the 2026 UAAP Esports Mobile Legends: Bang Bang championship on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the MVP Studios in Mandaluyong City.
The Bulldogs sealed the title in a decisive Game 3, overcoming a slow start before unleashing a dominant counterattack led by Johann Estacio.
NU also avenged its earlier group-stage loss to La Salle, with Estacio earning the Grand Finals MVP award for his standout performance.
Head coach Ernest Del Rosario said the championship was a sentimental reward for the team after its title loss last season and a semifinal setback earlier in the tournament.
NU reached the finals after sweeping the University of the Philippines, 2-0, while La Salle advanced with a 2-1 comeback victory over Adamson.
