The Filipino Roblox Developers Association (FRDA) opposed a total ban on Roblox, saying it would unfairly affect users who are not involved in criminal activities.
The group called for targeted measures against specific features, communities, or communication channels where safety issues occur.
The statement came after Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla suggested that Roblox may have influenced the Zamboanga school shooting suspect.
FRDA also rejected claims that the suspect’s first-person video footage showed he was copying a shooter game.
The group urged the government to present evidence linking Roblox to the incident and said it was willing to help address identified safety gaps.
