President Marcos announced that the Ombudsman has filed cases and issued arrest warrants against former lawmaker Zaldy Co and 17 others over multibillion-peso flood control project anomalies.
He said the warrants were based on evidence gathered by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Marcos emphasized that the authorities will enforce the warrants, and those charged will be arrested, brought to court, and held accountable under the law.
He assured the public that no one would receive special treatment and reaffirmed his commitment to seeing the anti-corruption campaign through.
The President also noted that prosecutors may consider charges such as plunder, anti-graft, or indirect bribery as the investigation continues based on the evidence.
