Starting June 25, qualified Filipino travelers can avail of a visa-on-arrival when entering the United Arab Emirates if they hold a valid visa, residence permit, or Green Card issued by the United States, European Union, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Canada, or New Zealand.
Eligible travelers may choose between a 14-day visa, which is extendable once, or a 60-day non-extendable visa.
Applicants must present a valid Philippine passport and the required travel documents upon arrival.
The Department of Foreign Affairs said the privilege was granted in recognition of the strong bilateral ties between the Philippines and the UAE.
The move is expected to benefit Filipinos traveling to a country that hosts one of the largest overseas Filipino communities.
