DPWH PLANS LAS PIÑAS CREEK WIDENING, RELOCATION OF 500 FAMILIES

The Department of Public Works and Highways is considering relocating about 500 families living along Tuntong Creek in Las Piñas to allow the widening of the waterway and improve flood control.

The proposed project aims to increase the creek’s capacity and reduce recurring floods in the city.

Officials said the relocation is necessary before the expansion can proceed.

The city government assured affected residents that relocation would be coordinated with the national government and would provide safe and humane housing.

The initiative forms part of Las Piñas’ “Oplan Kontra Baha” flood mitigation program.
