The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) praised Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez for reforms aimed at ending alleged overpricing of Compulsory Third Party Liability (CTPL) insurance during vehicle registration.
VACC President Arsenio Evangelista said the new measures provide relief to vehicle owners who were previously charged excessive premiums and help improve trust in the registration process.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has strengthened validation procedures and coordinated with the Insurance Commission to prevent fraudulent insurance practices and fake agents.
Evangelista said the reforms ensure that motorists can access affordable and valid CTPL policies without being forced to choose specific insurers.
He also commended the DOTr, LTO, and Insurance Commission for working together to protect consumers and promote transparency.
