METRO MANILA ROADS FLOODED BY HEAVY MONSOON RAINS

Heavy rains from the enhanced southwest monsoon flooded several parts of Metro Manila, making roads impassable and causing traffic jams across major thoroughfares.

PAGASA raised a red rainfall warning over Metro Manila and nearby provinces as the La Mesa Dam overflowed and the Marikina River reached second alarm.

Several cities, including Quezon City, Malabon, and Manila, activated evacuation centers and implemented emergency measures for affected residents.

A new low-pressure area was also spotted 1,545 kilometers east of Northern Luzon and may develop into a tropical cyclone.

PAGASA warned of continued rains in parts of Luzon and the Visayas due to the enhanced southwest monsoon.
