Dasmariñas City Mayor Jennifer “Jenny” Barzaga has been proclaimed the new congressional representative of Cavite’s fourth district, replacing her son, who the House of Representatives expelled on June 2, 2026.
Barzaga won the special congressional race by a wide margin, receiving 185,668 votes based on partial and unofficial results.
Former vice mayor Raul Rex Rosario Mangubat placed second with 23,208 votes and later conceded.
Her victory keeps the congressional seat within the Barzaga family.
The family has held political power in Dasmariñas for nearly three decades.
