The Department of Education (DepEd) is strengthening its Learning Resource Management and Information System (LRMIS) to track textbooks and teachers’ manuals at the school level.
The move follows DepEd’s completion of procurement for all 105 targeted textbook titles for public schools in 2026.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara said the system will help identify shortages, excess supplies, and needed reallocations based on current enrollment.
As of Aug. 27, 37,705 public schools had registered on LRMIS, with 17,797 schools encoding their textbook inventories.
DepEd aims to improve accountability and ensure that learning resources reach the schools and students who need them most.
