PCG, AUSTRALIA MOVE TO BOOST CYBERSECURITY COOPERATION

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is exploring stronger cooperation with Australia on cybersecurity and critical technology to address emerging maritime and digital threats.

PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan discussed cybersecurity needs and capacity-building efforts with Australian officials on Friday.

The talks included technical assistance, training, information sharing, and the Cyber Capacity Uplift Project.

Australia reaffirmed its support for the Philippines’ efforts to improve cyber capabilities and resilience.

The partnership aims to promote a safer and more secure maritime environment.
