The Philippine Navy formally welcomed its newest offshore patrol vessel, the future BRP Rajah Lakandula (PS21), during an arrival ceremony held in Subic, Zambales.
The vessel arrived in the country on May 4 as part of the Navy’s ongoing modernization and capability enhancement program.
It is expected to strengthen maritime security and territorial defense operations once officially commissioned.
The ceremony was led by top military officials, who highlighted the ship’s symbolic link to pre-colonial ruler Rajah Lakandula.
They emphasized that the vessel represents the Philippines’ commitment to protecting its maritime domain while promoting peace.
