The Marcos administration plans to ramp up infrastructure spending to ₱741 billion in the second half of 2026, up 39.4% from the first-half program.
Spending is expected to peak at ₱403.8 billion in the fourth quarter as the government targets ₱1.27 trillion in infrastructure disbursements for the year.
The spending slowdown earlier this year was linked to stricter reviews following concerns over alleged “ghost” flood-control projects.
DBM said infrastructure spending is expected to rebound in the second half as recently released funds begin to boost public construction.
The government also plans to increase infrastructure spending to ₱1.34 trillion in 2027.
