Parañaque 2nd District Rep. Brian Raymund Yamsuan has filed House Bill No. 9780 to require the periodic inspection and maintenance of national government infrastructure projects.
The measure directs the Department of Public Works and Highways to inspect completed projects every five to 10 years to ensure their safety, quality, and structural integrity.
It also seeks to guarantee government access to project sites, including those affected by ownership disputes, for inspection, repair, and rehabilitation.
Yamsuan said the proposal complements the Marcos administration’s infrastructure monitoring initiatives and aims to protect public investments.
The bill also imposes fines of up to P50,000 on those who unjustly deny government access to infrastructure sites.
