The Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) filed a complaint for obstruction of justice before the Department of Justice against Sen. Robin Padilla and five others.
CIDG officials alleged Padilla played an “indispensable role” in helping Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa leave the Senate on May 14.
Dela Rosa is reportedly wanted by the International Criminal Court over alleged involvement in the Duterte administration’s drug war.
Padilla admitted to giving dela Rosa a ride but said he was unaware of his destination after dropping him off in Makati City.
The CIDG also said other vehicles were positioned near the Senate to facilitate the exit, but details were withheld due to operational concerns.
