Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda visited two public schools in Baseco, Manila, to observe the implementation of the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program.
She said the initiative is crucial in helping students who struggle in reading, mathematics, and science through targeted interventions and tutorial sessions under Republic Act No. 12028.
Legarda, who co-authored the law, emphasized the importance of firsthand feedback from teachers, parents, and learners in improving the program.
She also cited education data showing widespread literacy challenges, with many students still struggling to read across different grade levels.
The visit concluded with a discussion under EDCOM II focused on strengthening education reforms and improving student outcomes nationwide.
