President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. lauded nearly 2,000 newly promoted teachers and school leaders in Bulacan and Pampanga as part of the government’s accelerated Career Progression program.
The oath-taking, led by Sonny Angara, covered promotions from Teacher II to Teacher VII, Master Teachers I to III, and school principals from Principal I to IV.
The program, under Republic Act No. 12288, establishes a competency-based system for career advancement with equivalent salaries and benefits to recognize professional growth and service.
Over 16,000 teachers nationwide have already been promoted, with 40,000 more applications under review, aiming to boost morale, retain experienced educators, and improve instructional quality.
Marcos and Angara also highlighted the YAKAP program, reinforcing the government’s commitment to teacher welfare, including healthcare access and ongoing support beyond promotions.
