TOBY PRESSES PRESIDENT MARCOS TO ADDRESS FLOOD CONTROL SCAM ALLEGATIONS

Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco challenged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to prove he has no involvement in the multibillion-peso flood control scam.

Tiangco urged Marcos to ensure that no one is protected by money, influence, or political connections.

His statement followed the retraction of testimonies by four alleged bagmen of former congressman Zaldy Co.

The testimonies were reportedly important to the Ombudsman’s investigation into the alleged involvement of former House Speaker Martin Romualdez in the controversy.

Tiangco also called on Marcos to direct government agencies to fully cooperate with the Ombudsman and to submit evidence regarding questionable budget and flood-control projects.
