The House prosecution panel is pushing for the tax records of Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband to be presented openly in the impeachment court, rather than in a closed or executive session.
Private prosecutor Lorna Kapunan said the evidence should remain transparent, although the final decision rests with the impeachment court.
She noted that while the defense has agreed to the opening of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) documents, it prefers that they be examined behind closed doors.
Lead prosecutor Rep. Gerville Luistro said the prosecution is fully prepared for the start of the impeachment trial on July 6, including opening statements and witness presentations.
The trial is expected to run for 92 days, with the prosecution planning to present one witness per day.
