The Department of Justice (DOJ) said it has not received any official communication regarding the alleged International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go.
DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez said the information was verified with the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime, which would receive any ICC warrant transmitted to the Philippines.
Go denied any wrongdoing and said he hopes the issue will not be politicized.
The DOJ’s statement came after Rep. Paolo Duterte claimed he had received information about an alleged ICC warrant against Go and two former police officers.
Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV has also claimed that the ICC may issue a warrant against Go over alleged crimes against humanity.
