GO PUSHES FOR FASTER PASSAGE OF EPIRA REFORMS

Bong Go has called for the swift passage of reforms to the country’s power sector to help reduce electricity costs for consumers.

He said any changes to the law should provide real savings for Filipino families struggling with rising living expenses.

Go also urged greater transparency and accountability to ensure consumers pay only fair and reasonable electricity charges.

His statement followed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call to amend the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA) to stop system loss charges from being passed on to consumers.

The senator said proposed reforms should be carefully reviewed to ensure they are sustainable and benefit the public.
