ALEX EALA HITS CAREER-BEST NO. 24 IN LIVE WTA RANKINGS

Alex Eala climbed to a career-high No. 24 in the WTA live rankings after reaching the final of the Mubadala DC Open in Washington, D.C.

The Filipina advanced to her first WTA 500 final by defeating former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka, 6-4, 6-2, in the semifinals.

Eala improved from No. 25 after entering the tournament ranked No. 28.

She will face world No. 3 Jessica Pegula in the championship match.

A victory would give Eala a chance to break into the WTA Top 20 for the first time.
