The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and Quezon City signed agreements for rental housing projects benefiting informal settler families.
The projects will build medium-rise buildings in Barangays Sauyo and Bagong Silangan under the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH).
Around 2,900 residents living in danger zones and along waterways are expected to benefit from the initiative.
The partnership follows meetings between DHSUD Secretary Jose Aliling and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, who supports the rental housing modality.
Belmonte said the scheme provides a practical solution for families who cannot afford to own homes while ensuring access to decent housing.
