QC HONORED WITH APOLINARIO MABINI AWARD FOR PWD PROGRAMS

The Quezon City government won the Local Government Unit Awardee (City Category) at the 31st Apolinario Mabini Awards for its efforts to promote the welfare and inclusion of persons with disabilities (PWDs).

Mayor Joy Belmonte received the award during the ceremony held on Aug. 3 at the House of Representatives.

The recognition highlights the city’s programs promoting accessibility, equal opportunities, and a more inclusive community.

Belmonte said the award affirms the city’s commitment to building an inclusive and caring city for all.

The Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Inc. presented the award to honor institutions advancing the rights and welfare of PWDs.
