The Commission on Elections (Comelec) reported a 99.997 percent accuracy rate between automated counting machines and manual tallies in the ongoing Random Manual Audit (RMA) of the May 12 elections.
As of the briefing, 723 ballots have been audited, with the remaining ballots expected to be completed within the day.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia noted this accuracy rate surpasses the 99.94 percent recorded in the 2022 elections.
He also emphasized that since 2010, RMA results have never been questioned.
The RMA is a manual ballot examination conducted to validate machine counts, covering votes for senators, party-list, congressional representatives, and mayors, as mandated by the Automated Election System Act.
