Senator Christopher “Bong” Go has filed a bill seeking temporary relief measures to help Filipinos cope with rising fuel prices.
The proposed “Fuel Crisis Immediate Relief and Response Act” includes the suspension of contributions to PhilHealth, SSS, GSIS, and Pag-IBIG for two months, with staggered repayment afterward.
It also provides a 30-day grace period for loan and utility payments without penalties, as well as stricter enforcement against price manipulation of basic goods.
The measure includes fuel subsidies, free ride programs, and financial support for workers, farmers, and small businesses affected by high fuel costs.
Go said the proposal aims to protect households and vulnerable sectors from global oil market instability.
