Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte has been officially appointed as president of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP-Laban), according to Sen. Robin Padilla.
Duterte had earlier served as acting president of the party after Padilla stepped aside to focus on his legislative duties.
Padilla confirmed the appointment in a Facebook post, noting that Duterte is now the official party leader.
Before this, Duterte served as PDP-Laban executive vice president and was elected Davao City vice mayor in the May 2025 elections.
He later assumed the mayoral post previously held by his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.
