QC MARKS 130TH CRY OF PUGAD LAWIN WITH WREATH-LAYING, SHRINE INAUGURATION

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte led the wreath-laying ceremony commemorating the 130th anniversary of the Cry of Pugad Lawin in Barangay Bahay Toro on Sunday.

In her speech, Belmonte emphasized that true freedom requires awareness, conviction, and a willingness to act for others and the nation.

Kabataan Partylist Rep. Atty. Renee Co, who served as guest of honor, also delivered a message highlighting the importance of continuing the struggle for the country.

The mayor also inaugurated the newly renovated Pugad Lawin Shrine and Interpretation Gallery.

The site features the restored Katipuneros sculpture by National Artist Napoleon Abueva, an outdoor theater, and a historical gallery showcasing the Philippine Revolution against Spain.
