The Department of Education (DepEd) has started nationwide orientation sessions to prepare schools for the shift to a three-term school calendar beginning School Year 2026–2027.
The rollout aims to help teachers and school leaders understand and properly implement key education reforms, including changes in grading systems, curriculum, and learning programs.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara said the orientations are meant to ensure schools are fully guided and supported as the transition begins.
Initial sessions have already covered major policy updates under DepEd’s Learning Systems strand, with more trainings scheduled in the coming months.
DepEd said the phased approach will continue nationwide to prepare schools early while minimizing disruptions to teaching and learning.
